“Arizona Wilderness – Don’t F#%k It Up!”
Arizona wilderness brewing Company (and the rest of us)
Two quotes to sum up the atmosphere at Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. It has a hip, environmentally conscious feeling throughout the place. TV’s installed in several places show wilderness photos. Beer flights are beautifully served on a partial tree branch. While menu items reflect their connection with nature.

They have a “Burger of the Week” and, while only having one “week” worth, I would recommend it. Ours had honey, bacon, bleu cheese crumbles on a brioche bun. I’m sure there was more. But whatever combination of ingredients combined for one great tasting burger. Topping off lunch was the poutine fries.
We usually order a tasting flight to sample multiple beers, but without overindulgence. This time was no different. While there are many choices, we kept it to two IPA’s, a Brown Ale, a Stout, and a Porter.
First up was the Double Picacho Pecan Pie. Brewed with local Arizona pecans, lactose, vanilla beans and maple syrup. This Imperial Brown Ale brings back Thanksgiving dessert.
Next, was the first IPA. A Double IPA, to be exact. Leggo My Eggo is a collaboration with “Welcome Chicken & Donuts”. A waffle-inspired beer also brewed with lactose and maple syrup. Can you see a pattern developing with our drinks of choice? While sweet indulgence is added to the brewing process, it doesn’t overpower the beers. It creates a slight sweetness that balances the bitterness of the hops.
Time for number three. Another Double IPA. Again brewed with lactose, the Pistachio Shake also has marshmallows. The marshmallows are conditioned on Arizona pistachios and vanilla beans. This, too, is a collaboration with another local business, Toasted Mallow.
As with any sweet treat, you want some coffee. And this is our fourth choice. The Superstition Coffee Stout. A creamy oatmeal stout brewed with locally roasted coffee and vanilla beans.
Rounding out our flight and bringing us home is the Peloncillo Porter. A brown porter with locally grown cinnamon roasted Medjool dates. Procured from The Farm at Agritopia, they provide an underlying note from the date. Be careful if you have a date allergy. This fact is also noted on the menu.
With a sign thanking local food purveyors, Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company is a favorite among those who choose to buy local. A company built on collaborations with other local businesses to each other’s benefit and a must in any visit.
