Although all tenants are not ready to open, the “immersive playground” of Area15 opens on September 17, 2020. We took a sneak peek tonight.

Here is a bit of what we saw…
We entered through the Art Island. Which was a great mash-up of Burning Man and other art pieces.Â
After Art Island, we headed inside. (We found the staff very conscious of CoVid procedures and felt very comfortable in the space.)
Opened inside you will find a gift shop, amazing ice cream, a couple of art cars, and the Birdly machine. The line was long, but it is an arm-flapping virtual reality flight simulator sure to make you feel like you are soaring. (Disclosure: That was the only part I was not comfortable with. Although they were cleaning between each user the VR goggles seem like an unnecessary risk in these times.)
Haley’s Comet fliers (zipline although they call it a glider) passed overhead and the lighted tree bar was further inside. Looming to the side is what will be the Meow Wolf space. If their barricade art is any indication of what is to come, it is sure to be a great time in early 2021 when it opens.
The lounging space situated at the back left me feeling like it would be the perfect place to sit and write for a while.

Outside we found an amazing event space. I am not sure which companies have already booked their event here, but you made a great choice! The disco ball all the locals curse as it blinds us on the 15 works when you are in the space. The food and drink samplings were incredible too!
There isn’t a whole lot to report on the space since everything is not quite ready (ax throwing coming too), but what is opened was a sight to see! We are looking forward to Meow Wolf opening!
