These vacation homes were often called “Little” White Houses because the Commander-in-Chief still fulfilled his official duties even while on vacation. Truman had his in Key West. Kennedy in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. Johnson and Reagan both had ranches. And Carter went back to his hometown in Plains, Georgia.
